Meet our Funders
STC is a Local Development District (LDD) for the Appalachian Regional Commission and receives funding to identify priority needs of local communities. STC's staff and board work with other local citizens to develop plans and fund programs to most effectively meet those needs.
STC also serves as an Economic Development District (EDD) for the Economic Development Administration, fulfilling EDA's mission to create and retain jobs, guided by the principle that communities must be empowered to develop and implement their own economic development and revitalization strategies.
