Grants Writing

Communities and not-for-profit organizations often need assistance to develop a competitive grant application, identify sources of funding, and articulate a realistic plan of work.  In addition to general technical assistance to applicants for Appalachian Regional Commission and Economic Development Administration grants, STC is able to provide staff assistance and customized grant writing services on a contractual basis.

Grants.Gov - Primary source of information for funding and applying for federal government grants.  Resources include search tools, application forms and packages, tutorials, news and e-mail alerts, application tracking.

New York State - A comprehensive website with a variety of resources and contact information for New York State agencies, initiatives, and funding programs.

Preparing a Grant Proposal - A helpful guide prepared by the Appalachian Regional Commission which outlines the five steps in the proposal writing process and gives examples of successful proposals and best practices.
